Rockley Studio is located in the historic Village of Rockley, a small rural settlement in the centre of the triangle formed by Bathurst, Oberon and Blayney.
Unlike many of the towns in the Bathurst region, Rockley evolved not as a gold mining town, but rather as a service centre for the burgeoning agricultural areas that surrounded it.
The Village has retained much of its nineteenth century character with many old buildings remaining in fine condition. Of particular interest are the Catholic Church, the Clubhouse Hotel, Buddens Bed & Breakfast (once the Bank of New South Wales) the Mill Museum and many residences. Most of these historic buildings and dwellings were built from bricks manufactured in Rockley itself.
Through the Village flows Peppers Creek a major tributary of the Campbells River. In the main area of Rockley this creek flows into a small weir surrounded by a park with BBQs and children's play equipment.
